Laying the foundations for holistic wealth management

Empowered Pensions (EP) and it's founder Lars Singleton have long been recognised, as a leading authority in the SSAS pensions space.

Empowered Wealth (EW) is seeking to build upon the strong foundations, which have been built by Lars and the rest of the team at EP, by delivering a more holistic wealth management service.

At the time of writing, the EW platform is only available to existing customers of EP, although fairly soon, it will be made available to a broader audience.

This will be possible, because in addition to managing existing SSAS pensions, EW customers will also be able to manage their personal, corporate and broader pension portfolios.

When you login to the EW platform, you will be faced with 3 boxes, namely:
  • Personal portfolio
  • Corporate portfolio
  • Pension portfolio

At the time of writing, when you drill into your personal portfolio, you will be to review and manage your:
  • Assets
  • Liabilities
  • Income
  • Expenses

By drilling into each of these options, you will be able to add, update and delete items, in order to accurately reflect your estate.

In the case of your assets, you will be able to organise things by asset class, so you can benefit from some diversification insights.

The functionality and user experience is identical, when it comes to your corporate portfolio, although in this case, you will be tracking the assets, liabilities, income and expense for specific companies.

At the time of writing, the functionality within your pension portfolio is constrained to any SSAS pensions, which are already administered by EP. This will evolve, in due course, to mirror the functionality that is now available for your personal and corporate portfolios.

As things stand, this functionality is useful, but somewhat limited, on account of it's static nature.

The important thing to keep in mind, is what can now be built upon these foundations.

From improved diversification to cash flow forecasting and estate planning to automated investments, the possibilities are endless and great progress has already been made, in the background, to deliver some of this enhanced functionality.

Feel free to play around with this new functionality, if you're so inclined.

As always, if you have any feedback or ideas for how we can improve things, we'd love to hear from you.

We have plenty of great things in the pipeline, which we're looking forward to sharing with you.
