Empowered Wealth's stance on due diligence

In order to view any investment opportunity, which is listed on the Empowered Wealth platform, customers first need to self-certify as being a high net worth or sophisticated investor.

Investment opportunities typically arrive on the platform, in light of client demand, rather than being chosen by members of our executive team.

In response to customer feedback, we have added a due diligence discussion feature to the platform, which allows platform users to discuss and share information about specific investment opportunities.

The following points are important to note:
  • Whenever a new comment is added to a due diligence discussion, the relevant investment counterparty will be automatically notified, so they have an opportunity to respond if they wish
  • The executive team at Empowered Wealth will not be participating in these discussions, as from a compliance perspective, it is important that we remain independent
  • Empowered Wealth accepts no responsibility for the contents of these discussions and does not offer any form of endorsement
  • Nothing in the discussion should be taken as financial or investment advice
  • The Empowered Wealth team reserves the right to delete any abusive or offensive comments, if it deems it appropriate or necessary to do so
The due diligence which Empowered Wealth conducts on investment opportunities will be strictly limited to the provision of an HMRC compliance risk rating. This rating is typically provided by the team at Empowered Pensions. More information about these ratings be found in this article

As per the disclaimers and risk warnings, which we display very prominently on our platform, customers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence, before committing to any form of investment.

Those wishing to learn more about due diligence, investing and risk may wish to review the FCA's Invest Smart website

Empowered Wealth accepts no responsibility for the contents, documents or links, which our investment counterparties include with the investment opportunities that are published on our platform.

Empowered Wealth reserves the right to de-list investment opportunities from the platform, if we become aware of malpractice or a change in circumstances, which necessitates this. We are currently considering the best approach, with respect to archiving or deleting such opportunities, on the basis that customers may wish to continue engaging with the associated due diligence discussion.
